Zera Carlton

I want this month to be over already (or maybe wanted, because I'm wayyyy calmer than when I wrote this).. What are we in? Week 2, day 14!!! (day 16 when I published though). And I'm famished... Famisheeddddd... I started my year travelling for a work trip a week ago... And between then and now, I've toured Nigeria more than I have in the past year, talk about Miss Tourism...

Today was extra spice of drama for me when I got to work 6 minutes late (8:06AM) and I was locked out of my work space, and asked to wait outside... Ever since then my day turned bland, like unsalted food... I tried not to cry, I failed at that... The only thing I would have held on to was that I got great feedback for my 2021 performance... But please... It's like medicine after death by decapitation...

Either ways, here I am writing my emotions and hoping it would at least give a sense of relief... Because I'm stressed and worked up...
I could go on and on... But first of all... Why do royal families have sooooo many rules concerning burial rights?... Like yooooo... She relocated from your country decades ago(the last 2 sentences only make sense to me, sigh, this can't even make sense to a normal person)... Once again... It's fine... We muuuveee (blame my Lagos indigene friend for my newly acquired slag)... Caio

Not all scammers use laptops and create fake female profiles for their potential victims, some seat in office receptions and serve you P.O.S then ask, “current or savings”. On this spicy day I set out of my house with hopes of getting my nails done, then ordering a ride to my destination (which I was actually forced out by my friends to go). Alas Bolt had other plans for me, it started when the price of my 33 minutes ride was ranging between 3,900 and 4,200... (in any currency that's crazy), either ways I found a way of getting to a place about 15 minutes to my destination. from there I ended up paying 1500 naira for my journey (which in hindsight, is still crazy). Oh well, I got in and was asked to pay a sum of 1300 to access the garden/park, it was the one thing I had budgeted for, so I wasn’t moved. So I opted to pay with my card as I wasn't with cash, next thing I heard was “It was declined”, no problem, kindly give me the printed slip so I can settle the debit alert with my bank, that’s where the excuses began… “The thing is that, it did not print it out I removed the card immediately I saw declined”, in which I replied no problem, “go to the settings on the machine you can print it out from there”. Reluctantly she printed it out with the most absurd surprise tone she said, “Oh! Wow, can you imagine? It was actually approved, I thought I saw declined”. Sigh

My lack of energy for drama made me unperturbed by her stunts, if it were any other day, baby girl would have to explain why she lied the first time, because I really don't get, Any who, many are made few are roaming (a phrase I recently learnt from on of my friends)

Till we meet again Caio!!

Can you imagine today is the 4th of January 2022 and I am somehow meant to resume work today!! By the way it's 2 AM my time, and based on reasonable logistics, I'm not going anywhere. You mean to tell me, that after flexing during the mini holiday, and waking up at odd hours of the day, tossing and turning on my bed by 12 PM, that I Zera, I am meant to summon courage and zest, to wake up by 4 AM and begin competing with the clock and Lagos traffic. Hmmm, not yet.

Welcome to my blog guys, a heavily detailed portion of my working class life would be here, in 2020 I graduated school and began the quest for a job, in the midst of the hunt, work brought me to Nigeria, and somehow planted me in Lagos (which is the most stressful city I have lived in, not that I have many to compare with)... So far so good, it's been bearable, a little bit of chaos and fun.

This year, I plan on documenting my journey, in this crazy city, you know make hay while the sun lasts, the sun being be my hectic work life, and the city that never sleeps.

Once again welcome, this is Lagos, and this is Zera's Lagos.
